The new Venti range of helmets have a redesigned intercom socket to support the "keys" of the new wireless intercoms. Wired plugs go deeper into the socket than before, making it more difficult to pull the plug. Pulling on the wire will eventually cause breakage - so these short extension wires overcome the issue by allowing you to leave the plug connected to the helmet and connect elsewhere.
We are also aware of a number of other "Compatible" intercoms and adapters being a larger diameter than the new port, thus stopping them being used. Again, these adapters overcome the issue.
Our recommendation is the YB0317 adapter - the coiled wire also acts as a slight buffer, should you forget to unplug the helmet as you exit the vehicle.
