We've personally been using these "Headcase" helmet bags from Headcase-Europe for some time. They are a tougher bag for helping protect your helmet when not in use, but still relatively lightweight.

The upper part of the bag is a thermo-formed shell which is moulded to the approximate shape of your helmet. The clever part is the helmet is kept away from the outer shell by a cross of elastic. Should the bag have something dropped on it, the case and the gap are likely to keep the impact away from damaging your helmet.

The lower lip of the bag is also made of the same material. Cupped to position the helmet in the middle, it also features the carrying handle and secondary D-rings to attach a shoulder strap (2 straps included with the bag)

The "Air" version of this case is our favourite. It features a small rechargeable fan in the base of the bag, allowing you to help dry your helmet after an event.
